What started off as a casual conversation between us as a young couple, early on in our courtship, manifested into a rough sketch of a barn on a scratch piece of paper, and grew into the beautiful venue that is now known as The Vine in New Ulm, Texas.
The 23-acre property was acquired in 2013 with the plan to turn it into something grand – something we could create as a destination location of sorts. Now, we are married and living out the dream we have worked tirelessly to build. As a midway point between Houston and Austin, this venue is easily accessible to anyone who is looking to host an event that exudes Texas style with true southern hospitality.
The Vine boasts a large reception hall, lovingly called “The Barrel Barn” complete with customized sliding reclaimed barn doors – perfect for letting nature in when the Texas weather allows. Reclaimed wood walls and flagstone floor-to-ceiling fireplaces flank each end of the ballroom. The Union Bell Chapel is also located on-site, complete with working bell for all couples to ring as they leave the chapel after saying “I do.” Private cottages for both the bride and groom, as well as their respective parties, have full kitchens, bathrooms, and other amenities. Aside from all of this, The Vine has what you would expect – grapevines that should be ready for harvest sometime in 2019. The vision of The Vine is more than just an event venue. Eventually, a tasting room and wine-making facilities will be incorporated making The Vine a sought after location for any and every type of event. Your story has to start somewhere…shouldn’t it start with us at The Vine?
